Rustle Teams Up with CFPA for 2006 School Outreach

2006 Poster Contest Teaches Students About Chlorine Pollution

For the third straight year, Rustle the Leaf is teaming up with the Chlorine Free Products Association (CFPA) for a poster contest aimed at middle-school-age students in several participating states.

Now in its seventh year, the contest "Designing for a Sustainable Future," informs students about the impact caused by bleaching pulp and paper with chlorine compounds. After learning about the ways in which chlorine creates toxins and adversely affects the environment and human health, students are challenged to create a poster that encourages people to take action to reduce chlorine use and pollution. The posters are judged by an independent panel assembled by the CFPA, and creators of the winning posters from each state competition are awarded cash prizes.

Rustle the Leaf creators Dan Wright and Dave Ponce developed the 2006 contest announcement for CFPA, which is themed: "The Case Against Chlorine." The Rustle/CFPA announcement features cast members from Rustle the Leaf Comics and information about chlorine pollution. The poster will be distributed with contest rules and a unique Rustle the Leaf comic.
